Of course high school students choose their classes, but what if we were able to do that at a young age. I think it would be interesting if students got to take classes that interested them and could eventually help their career paths. I think today in school we learn and memorize lots of unnecessary information. For example a future music producer doesn't need to know that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell, or a future mathematician doesn't need to know that Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd president. See, there's so much un needed information that won't pertain to future career paths. In my opinion I suggest that in 3rd, 6th, and 9th grade students should be administered tests that show their interest and skills, and based on those tests they should take those types of classes. I know it's a long stretch, but our time is being wasted in school, we shouldn't be forced to take classes that won't help us in the future. There's also graduation requirements like 4 years of math, science, and history. These things shouldn't be forced, we should be taking classes that interest us and make us want to better ourselves, and not stress out over a subject that we can't pass or succeed in. All my life I haven't been good at math, I've barley slid by, and I couldn't tell you a thing about algebra 1, although I'm in algebra 2. See, I think that's a problem, most students now just want to be done with it all, to forget all this needless information, and explore the possibilities of our interest.
