That question probably sounds like the ultimately tragedy for any teenagers or young adults. For a person that's grown up in the technology age, all I know is the Internet. Never did I have to get a book to look up what I needed, Google has always been there for me. But the entire internet shutting down would probably spin the United States into chaos. I'm not sure how the Internet could go down without things like the tv going out too, but if it were just the Internet then it would be okay because we would have television to tell us what's going on. I think the world relies way too much in Internet, literally everything has become digital, so it only makes sense for the young people to freak out if that were to happen. If it did happen, my reaction would probably be different than a causal teenager. For myself I don't rely that much in the internet, in my downtime I read, and I can do that with a physical book, or I can do it online it doesn't really matter to me, so I wouldn't be as impacted. On the other hand so many others would be in a panic, especially people like my sister she is one of those fanatics who is only on the Internet, she would definitely be the one to "suffer".
First of all living with fear can be exhausting. Being in constant fear isn't good physically or mentally. Some people can't even walk out of their houses for fear of their lives. It can be anything, fear of terrorism, getting physically injured, or even fear of being in ones own home. Imagine life for a person like that. Or just imagine yourself living like that, it's an awful way to live. Now, think about living without fear. Think of the things you would be able to do thinking that nothing's in your way and no one can stop you. It would be as if you could do anything you set your mind to. I know I'm just 16, what could I know about fear, and honestly I don't know much. I haven't had to worry about my safety ever in my life, but I personally believe that living everyday like it could be your last, is much more appealing than fearing what could happen tomorrow.
That would be revolutionary, I don't think there's been a time in history where the entire world has been at peace. Honestly, I don't think its likely this could ever happen. the world is just too culturally diverse for something like that to happen. I think peace for the world would be good, but i'm not sure how it could get this way. Already most countries are having internal battles with themselves, so how can a world be at peace, if a country alone cant do it. For example in the United states, we seem like a world superpower, but most of its people are divided. Its Democrats VS Republican, Pro-Choice VS Pro-Life, Homophobia VS Non- Homophobic. There is so many things that divide Americans i could go on for days. So if the world can get passed the problems of everyday life, maybe we could be at peace, but i doubt it could ever happen.
Of course high school students choose their classes, but what if we were able to do that at a young age. I think it would be interesting if students got to take classes that interested them and could eventually help their career paths. I think today in school we learn and memorize lots of unnecessary information. For example a future music producer doesn't need to know that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell, or a future mathematician doesn't need to know that Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd president. See, there's so much un needed information that won't pertain to future career paths. In my opinion I suggest that in 3rd, 6th, and 9th grade students should be administered tests that show their interest and skills, and based on those tests they should take those types of classes. I know it's a long stretch, but our time is being wasted in school, we shouldn't be forced to take classes that won't help us in the future. There's also graduation requirements like 4 years of math, science, and history. These things shouldn't be forced, we should be taking classes that interest us and make us want to better ourselves, and not stress out over a subject that we can't pass or succeed in. All my life I haven't been good at math, I've barley slid by, and I couldn't tell you a thing about algebra 1, although I'm in algebra 2. See, I think that's a problem, most students now just want to be done with it all, to forget all this needless information, and explore the possibilities of our interest.
-Sydney This actually intrigues me because i'm 16 and 15.00 an hour sounds like a dream. I totally understand why people would want that kind of money for minimal work. Most minimum wage workers didn't go to college and are reliant of that money to live everyday life. Full time minimum wage employees roughly make 15,000 a year. that's barley enough to buy a new car, much less pay rent. I can understand the people who weren't able to go to college, to have an increase based on their age. In my opinion state governments should set minimum based on age, it makes sense for a 16 year old to make 8 dollars and hour but not a 30 year old who wasn't able to attend college and get a better job. People shouldn't be penalized for the ridiculous prices of college, and not be able to support themselves without a college degree. I also understand the other side of people who think that no one should be payed over 8 dollars to flip a burger an hour. The argument works both ways, but in my opinion i believe that minimum wage should be based on age, and age alone.
